Selective choice of storyline agents will help you in choosing the right missions. You need jump clone for this.
Storyline missions are available after carrying out 16 missions no matter of their order, and whether you've declined some missions. Missions are counted separately for each level, regardless of the corporation; and not all corporations have storyline agents.
A mission will be given to you by your nearest storyline agent of the same faction as the agent you worked the previous 16 missions for.
To find the agent — see the information about the settled systems corporation and fly it all, docking to every station - the method is fairly long, but 100% effective.
A simplier method is to search at sites like eveinfo.com. There are other website, too - EVE - Explorer, eve-ru.com, but eveinfo.com offers the most convenient search.
You set your search parameters in the Agents DB section (make sure the corporation does have storyline agents generally). The search gives you links to different solar systems — follow and see if there are agents interesting for you. It is good if there are interesting agents at the same station or in the same solar system you are in, but this does not happen often. So you need to search in the neighbouring systems within the same Constellation.
That way you can view all storyline agents from the search results. Visit the suitable ones. You can expand the search for agents outside the Constellation, this may be necessary in case there are no suitable storyline agents in the neighbouring Constellation, but this will take much time. And also do not forget that the information in game can nevertheless be different from the one on the site - it is relevant only at the time it is submitted.
You can also start not with the search for storyline agents, but with searching for the agents of interest from the previous missions. But this is your personal choice.
